Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Network Security Analyst for a prominent telecommunications client. This fully remote role allows you to work from anywhere in South Africa, focusing on protecting the network infrastructure, threat detection, incident response, and security policy development.

You will monitor logs with SIEM, investigate incidents, conduct vulnerability assessments, manage firewalls and IDS/IPS, and mentor junior analysts while collaborating with IT and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years in network security analysis, operations, or engineering.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S.
• Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST frameworks.
• Scripting ability for security automation is a plus.
• Security certifications (CISSP/CEH/CompTIA) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic and security logs for threats using SIEM and tools.
• Investigate, analyze, and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain network security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Configure and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint security.
