Robinhood is seeking a Senior Staff Software Security Engineer in Bellevue to lead the Security Engineering team. You will define security strategy, build AI security foundations, and drive cross-cutting initiatives across infrastructure, cloud, IAM, and detection systems.

You will mentor engineers, align roadmaps with senior leaders, and stay close to production to ensure secure, scalable outcomes in a fast‑moving fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of leading security engineering initiatives at scale.
• Deep expertise in IAM and/or cryptography with broad security domain knowledge.
• Hands-on approach to building and operating production security systems.
• Ability to mentor engineers and align roadmaps across teams.

Responsibilities

• Define cross-domain technical strategy and architectural direction.
• Build AI security foundations for emerging AI technologies and agentic use cases.
• Drive high-leverage initiatives across infrastructure, cloud, identity, and detection.
• Write code and land production security systems from prototype to operation.
• Partner with engineering managers to set quarterly priorities and align roadmaps.
• Elevate technical bar through mentorship and architectural guidance.
• Maintain proximity to production to ensure security decisions reflect reality.
