Robinhood is hiring a Senior Staff Security Engineer to lead Security Operations with AI-powered defenses. You will bridge offensive and defensive security, guiding the technical direction and building advanced systems to protect one of the world's active financial platforms.

You will operate at the intersection of cutting-edge AI tooling and security tradecraft, leading 0→1 initiatives and mentoring engineers across the org. This is a high-impact, leadership role based in in-person offices.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of security engineering experience across offensive and defensive security.
• Ability to innovate with AI in Security Operations beyond chatbot demos.
• Proven senior leadership at the Senior Staff/Principal/Distinguished level.
• Deep expertise in application security and modern software architecture.
• Strong background in threat detection and security operations.
• Informed view on AI's impact on security domain and attack surface.
• Proficiency with cloud security (AWS) and telemetry/observability tooling.
• Exceptional technical communication to executives and engineers.
• Security certifications (OSCP, GREM, GXPN) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Security Operations AI Tech Lead for offensive and defensive security initiatives.
• Lead offensive security research to identify and close critical attack surfaces.
• Architect and build next-generation defensive capabilities with intelligent systems.
• Drive AI-forward security strategy as a core architectural component.
• Identify emerging threat actor motivations and translate intelligence into defenses.
• Set technical standards and mentor security engineers within Security Operations.
