Job summary

Stord in the United States is standing up a net-new Software Engineer in Test (SET) to build automation infrastructure that scales with the engineering organization. You’ll own end-to-end test coverage and AI-assisted test generation, partnering with product groups to raise quality while delivering fast, reliable software for a growing suite of fulfillment and commerce services.

You will work closely with an embedded SET Lead to define framework standards, ensure coverage across the test

Qualifications

• You've built and maintained production E2E test suites (Playwright or equivalent).
• CI/CD integration: you can wire test suites into GitHub Actions and gate releases.
• Programming proficiency: JavaScript/TypeScript or Python; you write test automation as production-grade software.
• API/contract testing: hands-on with tooling like Pact or Postman.
• Load/performance testing: experience with k6 or Locust.
• Directed AI-assisted development: use AI tools to boost test coverage while keeping judgment in the loop.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain full-suite automation across API, integration, E2E, and load tests.
• Partner with PMs to convert critical flows into automated coverage.
• Build Playwright-based E2E suites covering golden-path journeys.
• Wire test suites into GitHub Actions CI, gating releases on passing coverage.
• Own suite health standards and outcomes—flake reduction and reliability as coverage grows.
• Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted test generation tools into the team's workflow.
• Cut manual effort in interpreting execution results and triaging suites.
