Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the AWS Dedicated Cloud (ADC) Networking team. You will build distributed, mission-critical systems for automated provisioning, event detection, and continuous workflow testing that enhance security and availability.

You will collaborate with internal and external teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to design and deployment of cloud-based networking services across regions. A TS/SCI clearance sponsorship is provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience for new/existing systems.
• Experience mentoring, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Experience programming with at least one major programming language.
• Knowledge of distributed systems at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects to solve distributed systems problems on a global scale.
• Develop software systems for automating Amazon's network.
• Own the design, implementation, and quality of delivered services.
• Learn, design, and build cloud-based systems for diverse customers.
• Develop tools to collect and rationalize data from multiple sources to reduce workloads.
• Use data to measure success and proactively prevent faults affecting customers.
• Be a leader on an agile team and drive milestones to completion.
• Collaborate with Network Engineering for fast, smooth roll-outs and optimization.
