Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Software Development Engineer for the AWS Networking organization to design and develop software and services to configure and automate networking devices.

You will work autonomously on projects of team or cross-team scope, collaborating with network, system, and software teams to ensure scalable solutions that lower operational burden while maintaining customer focus. You will write optimized code, review peers, and communicate clearly with leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience building complex software systems delivered to customers.
• Experience designing or architecting scalable and reliable systems.
• Experience with full SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations.
• Experience programming with Java, C++, or C# in an object-oriented context.

Responsibilities

• Drive designs for components and services delivering new features.
• Prepare estimates for upcoming deliverables.
• Document proposed solutions and review code.
• Write well-structured and optimized code.
• Perform root-cause analysis on operational events.
• Provide project updates to leadership and team members.
