Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Virginia seeks a driven Software Development Engineer to own development, operations, and security of critical services for ADCs and Cleared Programs.

In this role you will design high-availability software, build integrations, develop infrastructure as code, and implement robust monitoring to scale with our growing infrastructure, while meeting the US citizen and Top Secret clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years in design or architecture of distributed systems.
• Bachelor’s degree or CSSLP certification.
• Experience programming with at least one language.
• Active US government Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-availability distributed software with emphasis on security, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Build and integrate APIs and middleware for security system integration.
• Develop automation frameworks for IaC deployment and configuration management.
• Create monitoring and alerting systems for service health and security.
• Ensure secure communication between distributed systems and contribute to security design reviews.
• Write clean, maintainable code and perform peer reviews.
• Collaborate with internal customers to understand operational challenges and deliver solutions.
