Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Release Engineering team. You will design and own large-scale distributed services that deploy OS updates across AWS device fleets, and build data-heavy systems that collect telemetry and apply ML models to detect network anomalies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming in at least one language (e.g., Java, Python, C++).
• 5+ years leading design or architecture of complex systems.
• Experience mentoring or leading an engineering team.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in CS/Engineering/Math.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own large-scale distributed services on AWS.
• Develop data-intensive software for telemetry collection and ML-based anomaly detection.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and test automation frameworks.
• Collaborate with Network Engineering and OS teams to enable fast, reliable roll-outs.
• Mentor engineers and raise design quality across the team.
