Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Scrum Master for Fort Meade, MD to lead mission-critical, high-visibility IT programs in a DoD context. You will drive SAFe-based agile delivery, coordinate with Government stakeholders, and manage risks and schedules across multiple teams.

You will facilitate PI Planning, track performance metrics, and remove impediments to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery in a complex, security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Fifteen (15) years of experience in IT project management, systems engineering, or technical program execution supporting large-scale enterprise deployments.
• Seven (7) years of dedicated experience managing projects/programs using hybrid methodologies (predictive planning with iterative execution), with at least three (3) years in a senior Scrum Master or Project Manager leadership role.
• Proven experience implementing SAFe principles, facilitating Program Increment (PI) Planning, and managing Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
• Experience interfacing with Government stakeholders (e.g., DISA PMs, Product Owner, Lead Engineer, ISSM) to deliver status reports and coordinate program reviews.
• Extensive background in predictive project scheduling with IMS and MS Project.
• Active DoD 8140/8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent) to meet secure environment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end project execution using a hybrid project management methodology integrating predictive planning with iterative Agile execution.
• Facilitate SAFe ceremonies at team and program levels, including Daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and PI Planning.
• Partner with Government PMO and Amentum leadership to deliver status reports and manage the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
• Establish and maintain RAID logs and brief mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
• Shield engineering teams by removing technical and administrative impediments to maintain velocity.
• Track velocity, burn-down/burn-up, and other metrics to drive continuous improvement.
