Job summary

Rangam is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist in Andover, MA for Pfizer under a direct-hire arrangement. This mixed role blends mammalian cell culture with software automation to control bioprocesses, connecting reactors, analyzers, and PAT instruments to real-time data and control systems across Pfizer sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years of industrial experience, or Master’s with 0–2 years in Chemical/Bioengineering or related fields.
• Working knowledge of at least one programming language with a delivered project; published code is welcome.
• Hands-on laboratory experience in cell culture or protein purification in lab setting.
• Self-motivated, organized, with strong written and verbal communication; able to explain technical decisions to non-coders.

Responsibilities

• Translate process understanding into control requirements for the platform.
• Develop, test, and deploy control schemes, alarms, and UI elements.
• Design and troubleshoot experiments in scale-down models.
• Act as technical owner for instrument platforms and their integration.
• Provide end-to-end support including version control, testing, deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
