W2 Contract

Pay Rate: $55 - $65 per hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking to hire an Associate Scientist to join our Bioprocess Development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, executing, and documenting upstream process runs to support our large molecule pipeline.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Execute lab-scale fed-batch bioreactor experiments (e.g., AMBR250, benchtop STRs) to support process development, optimization, characterization, and material generation.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot key laboratory equipment such as Vi-CELL, Nova Flex2, Octet, AMBR250, and bench-scale bioreactors.
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve bioreactor performance issues (e.g., pH, DO, feeding, sensor drift, contamination risks).
  • Summarize key experimental data and document all experiments in an electronic lab notebook in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Adhere to established protocols, maintain strong sterile technique, and ensure experimental reproducibility.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • BA/BS or MS degree in biology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or related scientific discipline with 2+ years of mammalian cell culture experience in the biotech/biopharma industry
  • Direct experience operating benchtop bioreactors (e.g., AMBR250 or similar systems).
  • Good understanding of CHO cell culture fundamentals, feeding strategies, and basic metabolic principles (e.g., lactate, ammonia, osmolality control).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple experiments simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation discipline.
