Job summary

L'Oréal Research & Innovation in Clark, New Jersey, seeks a Senior Scientist II in the Professional Skin Management Application Domain to lead technical strategy across projects, selecting raw materials and advanced formulations to deliver high-performance skincare.

You will collaborate with upstream and downstream teams, drive DoE and digital methods, mentor scientists, and help transfer technology while building a robust, science-driven roadmap.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Biochemistry, Biological Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, or related fields.
• Experience: PhD with 2+ years or Master's/Bachelor's with 5-9+ years in skin formulation development.
• Proven leadership in technical development of cosmetic formulations.
• Strong knowledge of skin biology and active ingredient chemistry.
• Experience with DoE, predictive modeling, and data-driven approaches.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and optimization of professional skin formulations across multiple projects.
• Own technical strategy and identify innovative raw materials and technologies.
• Ensure active stability and effective delivery in skincare products.
• Mentor junior scientists and guide cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with upstream and downstream teams to transfer technology.
• Champion digital tools and DoE to accelerate formulation development.
• Contribute to the Domain roadmap and strategic priorities.
