Job summary

L’Oréal USA in Clark, NJ seeks a Director for Analytical Stability & Innovation to lead end-to-end stability programs and build analytical capabilities across OTC and cosmetic portfolios. You will guide predictive stability modeling, oversee audits, and mentor a skilled team in chromatography and MS technologies.

This role requires a PhD with 7+ years in analytical chemistry, deep regulatory knowledge, and strong cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline required.
• 7+ years in analytical chemistry supporting OTC/stability programs.
• Experience managing end-to-end stability programs in GMP/OTC environments.
• Know-how in statistics, predictive analytics, chemometrics, stability kinetics, Arrhenius modeling, and data visualization.
• Regulatory knowledge of FDA, Health Canada, ICH guidelines, and compendial standards.
• Experience with CROs and external vendors.
• Experience managing direct reports and driving capability building in a lab.
• Strong chromatography (LC/GC) and MS (LC-MS/MS) expertise to guide teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead End-to-End Stability Programs: oversee protocols and timelines for OTC/cosmetics stability.
• Drive Digital & Predictive Analytical Transformation: develop predictive stability strategies and data visualization.
• Regulatory & Audit SME: ensure compliance during audits and adherence to FDA/ICH guidelines.
• Team Leadership & Upskilling: manage 7 direct reports, mentor, and develop staff in digital methods.
• Cross-Functional partnerships: collaborate with métiers, formulation, manufacturing, QA, regulatory.
• Strategic Leadership: build forward-thinking, elevate staff skill levels.
• CRO Management: oversee CROs and external partners.
• Capability Development: guide assay and degradation product analysis, method validation and transfer.
