Job summary

Axle Energy seeks a Scientific Program Manager VI to support NIH/NINDS in Rockville, MD. You will manage a complex grants portfolio, advise investigators on priorities and policy requirements, and coordinate workshops and cross-NIH activities.

The role requires a Master’s degree with a biomedical or neuroscience background, strong knowledge of NIH grants, and proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Project management and analysis skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Biopsychology, or related field.
• Experience with NIH grants, funding mechanisms, NOFOs and related policies.
• Proven ability to plan, manage, and evaluate complex research programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative programmatic advice to NIH staff for new or experimental programs.
• Develop project plans and timelines to execute studies and other projects.
• Screen proposed projects for fit with Institute mission and relevance.
• Conceive and analyze scientific landscapes affecting priorities and performance.
• Organize and participate in symposia and discussions with national and international leaders.
• Develop research plans for new projects.
• Design and support data collection instruments and SOPs.
• Coordinate projects from start to finish; monitor funding and results.
• Provide management and analytic support for major projects and initiatives.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative assessments of scientific information.
