Mount Sinai Morningside is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator II to schedule patient appointments, consults, and follow-ups, while also mentoring less experienced staff. This role may oversee front desk activities in the Supervisor's absence and supports patient care through accurate data entry and proactive coordination.

Responsibilities include coordinating FPA appointments, updating the practice management system, verifying insurance, and assisting with reminders and communications to patients.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years secretarial/clerical experience, preferably in a medical practice.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules patient FPA appointments and updates the practice management system.
  • Collects patient demographics and insurance information and enters into the system.
  • Verifies patient insurance coverage prior to appointment and advises on referrals or authorizations needed.
  • May schedule tests or consults for patients.
  • May initiate reminder calls for next day appointments.
  • Trains and mentors less experienced staff and discusses issues with Supervisor.
  • Acts as liaison between Scheduling Coordinators and Administrative Assistants to address patient concerns.
  • Participates in patient satisfaction surveys, appointment reporting, and related initiatives.
  • Contributes input into the Performance Appraisal process with Supervisor.
