  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 3 years secretarial/clerical experience, preferably in a medical practice.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules patient FPA appointments and updates the practice management system.
  • Collects patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Verifies insurance coverage prior to appointment and advises on referrals or authorizations.
  • May schedule tests or consults.
  • May initiate reminder calls for next day appointments.
  • Trains and mentors less experienced staff and discusses issues with the Supervisor.
  • Acts as liaison between Scheduling Coordinator staff and Administrative Assistants.
  • Participates in patient satisfaction surveys and appointment reporting.
  • Contributes input to the Performance Appraisal process.
  • Performs other related duties.
