Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator II to lead scheduling of patient appointments, consults, and follow-ups. This senior role includes mentoring less experienced staff and assisting the front desk in the absence of the Supervisor.

Qualifications

• 3 years secretarial/clerical experience, preferably with some directly related experience, in a medical practice environment.
• High School diploma/GED required.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments, consults and follow-ups, and maintains the practice management system.
• Collects patient demographics and insurance information and enters into the system.
• Verifies insurance coverage prior to appointment and advises on referrals or authorizations.
• Mentors less experienced Scheduling Coordinators and supports front desk in Supervisor's absence.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and appointment reporting.
