Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–3 years of medical office experience preferred for Level I.
• Minimum three years office experience (Level II).
• Minimum five years office experience (Level Senior).
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Answers all incoming calls; direct to appropriate personnel.
• Schedules patient appointments and tests per physician guidelines.
• Obtains insurance authorizations and referrals for patient charts.
• Enters patient data into the EMR system accurately.
• Collects co-pays and other amounts at time of visit.
• Maintains the primary scheduling template for physicians and clinics.
• Coordinates with patients for financial counseling when needed.
• Protects patient confidentiality and adheres to policies.
• Supports front office and prepares correspondence as requested.
• Communicates pre-operative prep and scheduling details with patients.
