Job summary

The US Oncology Network is seeking a Scheduler to support Texas Oncology in San Antonio, TX. This full-time role schedules patient appointments and tests, answers calls, and coordinates with medical staff to ensure smooth front-district operations.

Under supervision, the Scheduler may handle insurance authorizations, patient communication, and pre-operative scheduling, while contributing to compliance and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-3 years experience in a medical office setting preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.

Responsibilities

• Answers all incoming calls and directs to appropriate staff.
• Schedules new and returning patients in the computer system and EMR.
• Obtains and enters insurance authorizations and referrals in patient records.
• Collects co-pays, deductibles and other amounts at time of visit.
• Maintains scheduling templates and supports front office efficiency.
• Assists with pre-authorization and coordination of tests and surgeries as needed.
