Job summary

Anduril Industries in the United States is hiring a Staff Controls Engineer to own the SCADA layer for solid rocket motor production at the McHenry, MS plant. You will design, commission, and upgrade control systems, and lead Siemens PLC programming efforts to create maintainable, high-volume solutions.

The role requires 8+ years in production automation, Ignition SCADA expertise, and strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment.
• Expert Siemens PLC programming (Ladder and Structured Text).
• Experience with Ignition SCADA (Perspective, tag architecture, historian).

Responsibilities

• Design, commission, and upgrade control systems for solid rocket motor production equipment.
• Architect, write, and debug Siemens PLC code with an emphasis on organized, maintainable, reusable code for high-volume manufacturing.
• Generate and enforce internal standards for control architectures, regulatory compliance, and safety buyoffs.
• Integrate internal and external FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines.
• Build and maintain SCADA applications in Ignition (Perspective, tag architecture, historian).
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures, ensuring rapid resolution and long-term reliability.
• Install, configure, and tune servo drives / VFDs.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior controls engineers and provide technical direction on integrator-delivered work.
