Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Controls Engineer III to join the Rocket Motor Systems team in McHenry, MS. You will own the SCADA layer, wire PLCs, and integrate Ignition-based applications across production lines for high-rate manufacturing.

The role emphasizes Siemens PLC programming, servo drive tuning, and safety design with cross-functional collaboration to improve reliability and downtime. US export control access applies. Salary range is $100,000–$147,000 USD.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
2+ years of controls and automation experience in production environments.
Proficient in Siemens PLC programming (Ladder and Structured Text).
Proficient with servo drives / VFDs, PID tuning, STO/SS.
Strong knowledge of ProfiNET, ProfiSAFE, Ethernet IP protocols.

Responsibilities

Design, commission, and upgrade control systems for solid rocket motor production equipment.
Write and debug Siemens PLC code with maintainable, reusable structure for high-volume manufacturing.
Follow internal standards for control architectures, regulatory compliance, and safety buyoffs.
Integrate FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines.
Build and maintain SCADA applications in Ignition (Perspective, tag architecture, historian).
Lead root-cause analyses for automation failures and drive rapid, reliable resolutions.
Install, configure, and tune servo drives / VFDs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce downtime and drive improvements.
