Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Controls Engineer III to design, commission, and maintain control systems for Solid Rocket Motor production equipment in McHenry, MS. The role focuses on PLC programming, SCADA development in Ignition, and integration with FactoryOS software to improve reliability and throughput.

You will lead root cause analyses, tune servo drives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce downtime while adhering to safety standards and NFPA70e guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment.
• Proficient in Siemens PLC programming (Ladder and Structured Text).
• Proficient in servo drive and VFD configuration; PID tuning.
• Strong knowledge of ethernet based communication protocols (ProfiNET, ProfiSAFE, Ethernet IP).
• Experience developing SCADA applications in Ignition (Perspective, tag architecture, historian).
• Familiar with NFPA70e electrical safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, commission, and upgrade control systems for Solid Rocket Motor production equipment.
• Write and debug Siemens PLC code with an emphasis on organized, maintainable, reusable code for high-volume manufacturing.
• Integrate internal and external FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines.
• Build and maintain SCADA applications in Ignition, including tag architecture, Perspective screens, alarming, and historian configuration.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures, ensuring rapid resolution and long-term reliability.
• Install, configure, and tune servo drives / VFDs.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
