Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to own the SCADA layer and PLC integration for high-rate Solid Rocket Motor production at our McHenry, MS facility.

You will architect, code, and maintain Siemens PLC programs, tune servo drives, and lead risk assessments and safety design to ensure reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 4+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment
• Expert in Siemens PLC programming (Ladder and Structured Text)
• Proficient with servo drive and VFD configuration, PID tuning, STO/SS
• Strong knowledge of ethernet based communication protocols (ProfiNET, ProfiSAFE, Ethernet IP)
• Proficient with electrical component selection and wire sizing, circuit protection, heat management in control cabinets
• Experience developing SCADA applications in Ignition (Perspective, tag architecture, historian)
• Experience with risk assessments and safety design
• Familiar with NFPA70e electrical safety practices
• Must be a U.S. Person due to access to export controlled information or facilities

Responsibilities

• Design, commission, and upgrade control systems for solid rocket motor production equipment
• Architect, write, and debug Siemens PLC code with an emphasis on maintainability and reusability
• Generate and enforce internal standards for control systems architectures, regulatory compliance, and safety buyoffs
• Integrate internal and external FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines
• Build and maintain SCADA applications in Ignition, including tag architecture, Perspective screens, alarming, and historian configuration
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures with rapid resolution and long-term reliability
• Install, configure, and tune servo drives / VFDs
• Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and drive continuous improvement
