Job summary

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Staff Controls Engineer to design, commission, and upgrade control systems for Solid Rocket Motor production at the McHenry, MS plant.

You will champion Siemens PLC programming, SCADA/OT integration, and reliability initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce downtime and improve safety. This role requires US person and hands-on leadership in a high-assurance manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 8+ years of controls and automation experience in production.
• Expert Siemens PLC programming (Ladder and Structured Text).
• Proficient in servo drives and VFD configuration, PID tuning, STO/SS.

Responsibilities

• Design, commission, and upgrade control systems for Solid Rocket Motor production equipment.
• Architect, write, and debug Siemens PLC code for high-volume manufacturing.
• Generate and enforce internal standards for control system architecture and safety buyoffs.
• Integrate internal and external FactoryOS software into automation equipment.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures.
• Install, configure, and tune servo drives / VFDs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce downtime and drive improvements.
• Mentor junior controls engineers and provide technical direction.
