Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Controls Engineer III to join the Rocket Motor Systems team in McHenry, IL. You will own the SCADA layer, from PLC integration through Ignition applications and plant-floor visibility, enabling high-rate production of solid rocket motors.

You will design, commission, and upgrade control systems, write Siemens PLC code, and follow standards for architecture, safety, and regulatory compliance. Collaboration across teams drives continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• 2+ years in controls and automation in a production environment.
• Proficient in Siemens PLC programming (Ladder and Structured Text).
• Proficient with servo drives and VFD configuration and tuning.
• Strong knowledge of ProfiNET, ProfiSAFE, Ethernet IP.
• Experience with Ignition (Perspective, tag architecture, historian).

Responsibilities

• Design, commission, and upgrade control systems for Solid Rocket Motor production equipment.
• Write and debug Siemens PLC code with maintainable, reusable structure for high-volume manufacturing.
• Integrate FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines.
• Build and maintain SCADA applications in Ignition, including tags, screens, alarms, and historian.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures, ensuring rapid resolution.
