Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead SCADA & Controls Engineer to join our Energy team. This role is based in any U.S. office location and will lead the design, development, and implementation of SCADA, EMS, and control systems for utility-scale renewables and distributed energy projects.

You will guide multi-site initiatives, develop control narratives, integration drawings, and coordinate with utilities, OEMs, and EPCs while ensuring quality and safety standards across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in SCADA, controls or EMS within energy sectors.
• Experience with renewable energy projects (wind, solar, BESS, microgrids).
• Familiarity with industrial comms protocols and network design.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and implementation of SCADA and control systems for utility-scale projects.
• Develop control narratives, sequences of operation, and EMS architectures.
• Create system diagrams, interfaces, and integration drawings.
• Coordinate with utilities, OEMs, EPCs, and clients; mentor junior engineers.
• Support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational readiness.
