Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Electrical Power Engineer to join the TeraWave team and design power subsystems for satellite payloads. You will develop flight-qualified power electronics hardware that meets demanding performance, mass, reliability, and environmental requirements.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related field).
• Experience with isolated DC-DC converters up to 1 kW/120 VDC.
• Experience with power electronics for satellite/space hardware.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and qualification of isolated DC-DC power systems up to 1 kW at 120 VDC, focusing on efficiency, mass, and thermal performance.
• Design sub-1V, high-current POL converters with tight regulation for digital payloads and FPGAs.
• Develop and maintain power system architectures including filtering, sequencing, protection, and distribution for satellite applications.
• Perform WCA, derating, stability, power dissipation, transient, reliability analyses, DFMEA/DFT/DFM, EMI/EMC analyses.
• Coordinate with mechanical, thermal, systems, optics, and RF teams to integrate power electronics into the satellite platform.
• Lead design reviews and present results to peers and external stakeholders.
