Blue Origin in Seattle seeks an experienced Electrical Power Engineer to design, analyze, and verify power subsystems for satellite payloads, delivering flight-qualified hardware. You will lead isolated DC-DC converter development up to 1 kW at 120 VDC, perform WCA, derating, stability, and EMI analyses, and collaborate across mechanical, thermal, and RF teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 7+ years of relevant professional experience in electrical power electronics design.
• Experience designing isolated DC-DC converters at 1 kW / 120 VDC or higher.
• Experience designing sub-1V POL converters for high-performance digital systems.
• Experience in satellite/space hardware power electronics.
• Ability to perform power electronics analyses (WCA, derating, stability, etc.).
• Proficient with circuit simulation tools (LTspice, SIMetrix, etc.).
• Familiarity with space/defense standards (NASA EEE-INST-002).

Responsabilités

• Lead design, development, and qualification of isolated DC-DC power converters up to 1 kW at 120 VDC.
• Design and characterize sub-1V POL converters for digital payloads and FPGAs.
• Develop power system architectures including filtering, sequencing, and fault protection.
• Perform design verification analyses (WCA, derating, stability, etc.).
• Support PCB layout reviews for power integrity and thermal relief.
• Coordinate with mechanical, thermal, systems, optics, and RF teams for integration.
• Create and execute hardware bring-up, characterization, and production test plans.
• Lead design reviews and present analyses to peers and stakeholders.
