Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Electrical Power Engineer to join the TeraWave team. You will architect, design, analyze, and verify electrical power subsystems for satellite payloads and flight hardware, reporting to the TeraWave Avionics Senior Manager.

You will lead DC‑DC power conversion up to 1 kW at 120 VDC, develop POL converters, perform WCA, derating, stability, thermal and EMI analyses, and collaborate across mechanical, thermal, systems, optics, and RF teams to deliver robust,

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or closely related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in electrical power electronics design.
• Experience designing isolated DC‑DC power converters at the 1kW /120VDC level or higher.
• Experience designing sub‑1V point‑of‑load converters for high‑performance digital systems.
• Direct experience designing power electronics for satellite/space hardware.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and qualification of isolated DC‑DC power conversion systems up to 1kW in 120VDC range.
• Design and characterize sub‑1V POL converters with tight regulation for FPGAs/digital payloads.
• Develop and maintain power system architectures including filtering, sequencing, in‑rush, fault protection, and distribution for satellite applications.
• Perform and document design verification analyses (WCA, derating, stability, power dissipation, transient, reliability, DFMEA, DFT, DFM, EMI/C).
• Support PCB layout reviews and collaborate with mechanical/thermal/systems/RF teams.
• Lead design reviews and present results to peers and external stakeholders.
