Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Electrical Power Engineer to design and verify electrical power subsystems for satellite payloads on the TeraWave program. You will develop robust, flight-qualified power electronics hardware, lead design reviews, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration in space environments.

The role demands a strong background in DC-DC power conversion, high-voltage systems, and thorough analyses (WCA, DFMEA, EMI/EMC).

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
7+ years of professional Power Electronics experience.
Experience with isolated DC-DC converters at 1 kW/120 VDC or higher.
Experience with sub-1V, high-current POL converters.
Space or satellite hardware experience preferred.
Proficiency with WCA, derating, stability, and EMI analyses.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, and qualification of isolated DC-DC systems up to 1 kW at 120 VDC.
Develop power architectures, filtering, sequencing, and fault protection.
Perform and document validation analyses (WCA, derating, stability).
Support PCB layout reviews and thermal relief strategies.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for integration into satellite platforms.
Develop hardware bring-up, qualification, and production test plans.
Lead design reviews and present results to stakeholders.
