Job summary

Blue Origin in California is seeking an experienced Electrical Power Engineer to join the TeraWave team. You will design, analyze, and qualify power subsystems for satellite payloads, including isolated DC-DC converters up to 1 kW and sub-1V POLs, with a focus on efficiency, thermal management, and flight qualification.

You will collaborate with mechanical, thermal, systems, optics, and RF teams to ensure integration into the satellite platform, perform design verification and various analyses

Qualifications

5+ years in electrical power electronics design
Experience designing isolated DC-DC converters at 1 kW / 120 VDC
Ability to design sub-1V rail/pol converters with tight regulation
Proficiency with circuit analysis and design verification
Familiarity with space hardware standards and MIL/NASA guidelines

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, and qualification of isolated DC-DC converters up to 1 kW in the 120 VDC range
Develop and verify power architectures including input filtering, sequencing, protection, and distribution for satellite payloads
Perform WCA, derating, stability, power dissipation, transient response, reliability, and EMI/EMC analyses
Support PCB layout reviews and thermal relief strategies
Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, systems, optics, and RF teams for successful integration
