Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Senior Satellite Flight Software Engineer to lead the architecture and development of flight software for the 5,408-vehicle TeraWave constellation. You will shape software design, drive integration across disciplines, and set high standards for verification, security, and maintainability.

The role requires hands-on expertise in embedded real-time systems, C/C++, and RTOS environments, with a focus on scalable, secure software for space missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience developing embedded software for spacecraft or other mission-critical real-time systems.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, UDP, CAN, I2C, SPI, RS-422/485.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, and integrate core flight software for a next-generation satellite platform.
• Define scalable, reusable flight software frameworks and services.
• Develop and evolve key flight software components including C&DH, telemetry, health monitoring, and fault-management infrastructure.
• Establish architecture standards, coding guidelines, and review practices for maintainability and reliability.
• Collaborate with systems, avionics, GNC, communications, power, propulsion, thermal, payload, and autonomy teams to translate requirements into software implementations.
