Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Satellite Flight Software Engineer III to design, implement, and verify onboard flight software for TeraWave. You will work on C&DH, telemetry, and time management, ensuring secure, reliable operations across a multi-vehicle constellation.

You’ll collaborate with hardware, systems, and autonomy teams, develop simulations, and participate in SIL/HIL testing and on-orbit troubleshooting, while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in spacecraft flight software or embedded software development.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
• Experience with RTOS and embedded Linux build systems.
• Familiarity with CCSDS standards and cybersecurity for space systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement flight software for C&DH, telemetry processing, and health data management.
• Develop telecommand/telemetry processing and onboard time management features.
• Create interfaces between C&DH and other subsystems; support simulations, SIL/HIL testing.
• Participate in design reviews, verification, and validation activities; mentor juniors.
