Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Satellite Simulation and Test Software Engineer IV/Sr to design, develop, and verify simulations for TeraWave's flight software subsystem. The role involves cross-platform deployment, software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing, and collaboration with hardware and autonomy teams to define interfaces and behavior.

The candidate should lead complex software architectures and support on-orbit operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in spacecraft software, simulation software, or embedded development.
• Experience designing and leading simulation environments for flight or embedded systems.
• Ability to lead the technical architecture of a complex software system.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement simulation software for testing flight software.
• Collaborate to deploy a cross-platform simulation environment for software-only, HWIL, and real-time testing.
• Coordinate with hardware and systems teams to define interfaces and behavior across subsystems.
• Develop and integrate simulations to test FSW across nominal and off-nominal scenarios.
• Participate in SIL and HIL testing and in software verification and validation.
• Provide background support for on-orbit operations and troubleshooting.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team technical development.
