Job summary

EY is seeking an SAP IS-U Device & Work Management Functional Manager to lead end-to-end design and delivery of SAP IS-U Device and Work Management solutions for utilities clients in the United States.

You will own the Device and Work Management workstream, align SAP IS-U processes with metering and field operations, and collaborate across business, technology, and vendor teams to drive solution quality and deployment readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Typically 4–6 years of SAP IS-U or SAP Utilities experience, including devices/work management, with 3+ years leading a functional workstream.
• Proven experience owning SAP IS-U Device and Work Management design and delivery through all phases.
• Experience integrating SAP IS-U with AMI/MDMS/EDM/GIS, inventory, SAP Plant Maintenance, and mobile workforce solutions.
• Ability to lead requirements gathering, fit-gap analyses, workshops, and design reviews for scalable SAP IS-U solutions.
• Experience guiding cross-functional integrations, testing, cutover, and operational readiness within large utility transformations.

Responsibilities

• Own the SAP IS-U Device and Work Management workstream from discovery to post-go-live stabilization.
• Define and govern the functional design for device lifecycle management, meter reading, field service, and work execution.
• Lead requirements gathering, fit-gap assessments, and design reviews to translate utility needs into scalable SAP IS-U designs.
• Drive end-to-end integration with AMI, MDMS, EDM, GIS, inventory, SAP Plant Maintenance, and mobile workforce solutions.
• Lead device and field-work process design, including lifecycle, readings, service orders, and exception handling.
• Manage cross-workstream dependencies and communicate options and impacts to leadership.
• Develop functional specs, documentation, configuration standards, and design decisions.
• Coach functional consultants and coordinate vendor teams for timely issue resolution.
• Oversee end-to-end testing, defect resolution, cutover, and operational readiness activities.
• Build client relationships and provide guidance on transformation priorities.
