Job summary

Be a trusted advisor to middle market and Fortune 500 clients, leading multi-state reviews and supervising staff to deliver high-quality tax compliance and advisory services. Strong communication and client-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree required.
• CPA, Law License or CMI qualifications.
• Eight or more years of state and local tax experience, professional services background preferred.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates desired.

Responsibilities

• Be a trusted advisor to middle market and Fortune 500 clients by providing strategic state and local tax compliance and consulting services.
• Manage multi-disciplinary, multi-state reviews of income, franchise, sales and use, gross receipts, payroll, and ad valorem taxes to identify optimal filing options and incentives.
• Research nexus determinations, taxability analyses, and quantify potential liabilities.
• Counsel clients on state and local tax controversies, including drafting correspondence and ruling requests.
• Plan and execute tax projects requiring wide scope, including due diligence and voluntary disclosures.
• Prepare technical memoranda on state and local tax issues for various entities.
• Maintain active client communication and propose business/process improvements.
• Lead and develop staff on engagements to meet profitability targets.
• Network internally and with clients to build relationships and drive growth.
