Job summary

Alpaca is seeking a Sr. Sales Engineer to be the technical bridge for our enterprise partners. You will translate complex API capabilities into business value, drive pre‑sales discussions, and guide integrations from discovery through onboarding.

You'll collaborate with Sales, Solutions, and Engineering teams across regions, own technical demos, respond to security questionnaires, and help regulators and partners align with Alpaca's platform. Travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise / B2B customers in a technical, sales engineering, or solutions engineering role (typically 5+ years)
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, SDKs, and software integration workflows; hands-on experience with APIs, WebSockets, Postman, Grafana, and JSON.
• Able to translate complex technical concepts into simple, understandable terms.
• Self-starter who thrives in a startup environment, manages multiple assignments simultaneously, works independently, and drives projects to completion with close attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical sales support and relationship management for enterprise customers, acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout the partner lifecycle.
• Partner with Sales and Solutions teams on pre-sales technical discussions, solution design, API consultations, and present product/technical use cases to clients.
• Guide new enterprise customers through API integration, implementation, and onboarding.
• Translate customer requirements into clear specifications for Alpaca's engineering team and contribute to product improvements.
• Own technical sales engagements end-to-end: discovery, validation, RFPs, security questionnaires, and demos.
• Create sales support materials and documentation for new features and products.
• Coordinate with regulators, vendors, and partners to relay requirements to global teams.
• Travel as needed to support customers and partners.
