Senior Sales Director (Dick's Sporting Goods)

Purpose: Integrate account-specific work on historical business and initiative performance, understanding shoppers, their needs, perceptions of the brand, and product opportunities to develop strategic account plans.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Lead execution of the strategic account plan, collaborating with dedicated account sales resources, marketing, merchandising, and analysis teams to drive sell-in and sell-through.
  2. Monitor ongoing business performance at the account, build on momentum, capitalize on product and pricing opportunities, and address sales shortfalls.
  3. Develop deep expertise in regional market trends, consumer dynamics, and preferences.
  4. Establish and nurture relationships with key retailer personnel to influence and execute strategic directions.
  5. Provide insights on market trends, competitive activity, and factors affecting sales within the account.
  6. Plan, analyze, and implement projects and initiatives as directed by the Head of Sales, adidas America.
  7. Perform supervisory responsibilities including hiring, training, performance assessments, coaching, and mentoring.
  8. Participate in key account sales meetings.
  9. Lead and participate in pre-sell preparation meetings.

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills with internal and external parties.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and at least ten years of retail, sales, or management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
