Senior Sales Director (Dick's Sporting Goods)

Join to apply for the Senior Sales Director (Dick's Sporting Goods) role at adidas.

Purpose

Integrate account-specific work on historical business and initiative performance, understand shoppers, their needs, perceptions of the brand, and product opportunities to develop account strategic plans.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Lead execution of the strategic account plan, working with dedicated account sales resources, marketing, merchandising, and analysis teams to drive sell-in and sell-through.
  2. Monitor ongoing business performance at the account, build on momentum, capitalize on product and pricing opportunities, and address sales shortcomings.
  3. Build deep expertise in regional market trends, consumer dynamics, and preferences.
  4. Establish and develop relationships with key retailer personnel to influence and execute strategic directions.
  5. Provide counsel on market trends, competitive activity, and factors affecting sales within the account.
  6. Plan, analyze, and implement projects driven by the Head of Sales, adidas America.
  7. Carry out supervisory responsibilities including hiring, training, performance assessments, coaching, and mentoring.
  8. Attend and participate in key account sales meetings.
  9. Lead and participate in pre-sell preparation meetings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to address complex issues and improve techniques, products, or processes.
  • Widespread knowledge across departmental areas.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills for delivering persuasive presentations.
  • Expertise in industry and market trends, with ability to align merchandise planning with forecasts.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and at least ten years of retail, sales, or management experience, or equivalent education and experience.
