Role Summary

The Senior Safety Specialist will coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine and complex construction projects. This position will be responsible for conducting safety inspections, identifying and documenting abatement of hazardous conditions, writing reports, and performing trend analysis. All activities will support the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

• Coordinates and implements the field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conducts regular walk-through inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with laws and Company policies.
• Conducts safety audits on assigned projects, identifying, documenting, and recommending abatement of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions to internal and external clients. Utilizes safety management systems to document findings and track abatement.
• Conducts project-specific new hire orientation and oversees drug and alcohol policy compliance.
• Monitors implementation of prime contractor and subcontractors' safety programs.
• Attends project meetings to discuss safety matters.
• Supports field leadership in safety program implementation and chairs safety committees.
• Assists in investigating accidents, determining root causes, and recommending process changes.
• Coordinates with injured employees and clinics to ensure timely treatment and return to work, and compiles injury reports.
• Monitors site safety incentive programs.

• Assist during insurance audits.
• Oversee complex projects and manage insurance programs.
• Develop and implement training strategies, assess needs, and improve programs.

• Ability to perform work accurately and timely.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and safety software.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in safety/health-related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.

Working Environment

• Valid driver's license required.
