Role Summary

The Senior Safety Specialist will coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine and complex construction projects. Responsibilities include conducting safety inspections, identifying hazardous conditions, writing reports, and performing trend analysis, all supporting JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

• Coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, document findings, and recommend abatement of hazards.
• Oversee safety orientations, compliance with drug and alcohol policies, and monitor safety programs of contractors.
• Participate in project meetings to discuss safety-related matters.
• Assist in investigating accidents and coordinate with medical providers for injured employees.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

In addition, this position will:

• Possess advanced safety knowledge to identify complex hazards and provide solutions.
• Utilize safety management systems for trend analysis and recommend mitigations.
• Provide guidance and training on safety topics.
• Assist during insurance audits and oversee complex projects.
• Develop and implement training strategies, and monitor safety metrics for improvements.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Accurate and timely work performance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and safety software.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and hazard recognition.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in safety and health-related field preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience required.

Working Environment

• Valid driver's license required.
