Role Summary

The Senior Safety Specialist will coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine and complex construction projects. This role involves conducting safety inspections, identifying and documenting hazardous conditions, writing reports, and performing trend analysis, all in support of JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

• Coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, identify hazards, document findings, and recommend abatement solutions.
• Oversee safety orientation for new hires and monitor compliance with drug and alcohol policies.
• Support and monitor the safety programs of prime contractors and subcontractors.
• Participate in project meetings to address safety issues and lead safety committees.
• Assist in investigating accidents and recommend process improvements.
• Coordinate with medical providers for injured workers and track injury reports.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

In addition, the Senior Safety Specialist will:

• Handle more complex safety hazards and provide advanced abatements solutions.
• Use safety management systems for trend analysis and recommend mitigations.
• Provide guidance and training on safety topics.
• Assist with insurance audits and oversee complex projects.
• Develop and implement safety training strategies and programs.
• Monitor safety metrics to identify training needs and provide training sessions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to perform work accurately and timely.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and safety software.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and hazard testing protocols.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in safety or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience required.
