Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Safety Manager to lead the Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project teams and sites. You will drive safety initiatives, conduct hazard assessments, and develop training content to ensure compliance and high performance.

The role requires extensive safety leadership experience, strong communication, and the ability to travel up to 100%. A CSP is preferred and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or related field.
• High school diploma plus CHST, OSHA 500 with 14 years of construction safety leadership experience.
• Eight years as a dedicated construction safety professional managing large/multi-project safety programs.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.
• Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity/affirmative action.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and manage Zero Injury Safety Program elements across operating groups.
• Lead safety program collaboration with trade partners and joint-venture partners.
• Conduct and review site hazard assessments with project management.
• Develop and conduct safety training and orientation content.
• Oversee safety data, OSHA reporting, and trend analyses.
• Monitor onsite activities via audits and observations; document deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Lead incident reporting, investigation, and analysis; coach safety managers.
• Mentor Safety staff and provide development opportunities.
• Maintain knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and other standards.
• Support safety leadership in achieving performance metrics and incident response.
