Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Manager to lead the Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project teams and sites. You will drive safety strategy, conduct hazard analyses, and develop site-specific training.

You will mentor safety staff, coordinate with partners, ensure OSHA compliance, and report on safety metrics. Applicants should have a safety degree, CSP preferred, and a track record of managing large complex projects with diverse workforces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or related field.
• Minimum 14 years of construction experience with 8+ years as safety professional.
• Experience on large, complex projects with many subcontractors.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100%

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and manage Zero Injury Safety Program elements across the operating group.
• Lead safety program collaboration with trade and joint-venture partners.
• Conduct hazard assessments with project management during planning and construction.
• Develop and conduct safety training, including trainer sessions.
• Oversee safety metrics, OSHA reports, and incident analysis.
• Coach safety managers and mentor safety staff; lead investigations.
