Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Safety Manager to provide leadership and direction for the Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project teams and construction sites. You will lead collaboration with trade and joint-venture partners, conduct hazard assessments, and drive training initiatives to foster a strong safety culture.

You will oversee incident investigations, maintain OSHA/compliance reporting, and mentor safety staff while advancing safety performance metrics across the operating

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience leading large construction safety programs with multi-project oversight.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and manage Zero Injury Safety Program elements across the operating group.
• Lead safety program collaboration with trade partners and joint ventures.
• Conduct hazard assessments with project management during planning and construction phases.
• Develop and deliver safety training and orientation content.
• Oversee documentation, tracking, and analysis of Safety, Injury, and Hazard statistics and OSHA reports.
• Monitor onsite construction activities through audits and observations; document deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Lead incident reporting, investigation, and analysis; coach safety managers in safety reviews.
• Provide mentorship to Safety staff and support leadership development.
• Maintain knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and related standards and procedures.
• Support safety leadership in achieving safety metrics and incident response.
