Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Safety Manager to lead the Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project teams and construction sites. You will plan, implement, and monitor safety initiatives, mentor safety staff, and drive collaboration with trade partners to reduce risk on site.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field, 14+ years in construction with 8+ years in safety leadership, and CSP/OSHA credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field is required.
• Minimum 14 years of construction experience with 8+ years in safety leadership.
• Experience on large, complex projects with many subcontractors.
• CSP certification preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and manage Zero Injury Safety program across operating groups.
• Lead safety collaboration across organizations, including trade partners.
• Conduct site hazard assessments during planning and construction.
• Develop and deliver safety training and orientations.
• Oversee safety metrics, OSHA reports, and incident analysis.
• Monitor onsite activities via audits, document deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Lead incident reporting, investigation, and coaching of other safety managers.
• Mentor safety staff and provide development opportunities.
• Maintain knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and related standards.
• Support leadership in achieving safety performance metrics.
