Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Safety Manager I to lead safety efforts across multiple project sites within Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety program. The role may supervise one or more safety professionals and requires interaction with staff at all levels.

You will drive safety leadership, training, and incident analysis with confidentiality and professionalism. The position emphasizes leadership, risk reduction, and compliance across projects, with travel up to 100%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
• Minimum six years of construction safety experience.
• At least six years as a dedicated construction safety professional managing project safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety oversight and direction across multiple project sites.
• Lead project teams in developing site-specific electrical safety programs.
• Identify training needs and conduct safety orientation and electrical training programs.
• Review safety submittals and attend preconstruction meetings with subcontractors.
• Mentor Safety staff and oversee incident statistics and OSHA reports.
• Conduct work area safety audits and major incident analyses.
• Monitor subcontractor activities for safety concerns.
