Job summary

Manhattan Construction Company is seeking a Safety Manager 2 to enforce safety, health, and environmental policies on construction projects. You will lead, mentor, and enforce a high standard of safety practices to eliminate hazards and protect workers.

The role requires extensive OSHA knowledge, incident investigations, and collaboration with project teams. Strong communication and leadership expertise are essential, with the ability to drive continuous safety improvements across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 4-year bachelor's degree or relevant safety experience
• STS(C) and/or CHST or equivalent.
• 12 years of industry experience
• First aid & CPR certified instructor

Responsibilities

• Provide mentorship and development to assigned Safety Manager 1
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the safety department
• Proficient in administering a job site CCIP, OCIP, or other Insurance program
• Knowledgeable of OSHA and Insurance provider site visits
• Lead investigations of incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and preventive actions
• Coordinate with Safety personnel in your region on requirement updates and awards
• Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and employees to promote safety
• Maintain safety files and records
• Conduct weekly project safety training meetings
• Adhere to 29 CFR 1926 and 1910 OSHA standards
