Job summary

Manhattan Construction Company is seeking a Safety Manager 1 to enforce safety, health, and environmental policies on construction projects. This role leads, directs, and enforces safety practices to identify and control hazards, ensuring an injury-free environment through adherence to job-specific standards and best practices.

The position requires a strong background in safety engineering, OSHA standards, and the ability to mentor Safety Engineers, conduct training, and coordinate with project

Qualifications

• 4-year bachelor’s degree or relevant safety experience.
• BCSP STS(C) and/or CHST or equivalent.
• 5+ years of industry experience.
• First aid & CPR certified instructor.

Responsibilities

• Conduct weekly project safety training meetings.
• Supervision of safety/first aid & rescue activities.
• Conduct incident investigation & reporting.
• Understand 29 CFR 1926 and 1910 OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements.
• Lead investigations of incidents and near-misses; develop corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to promote safety.
• Maintain safety files and records.
