Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Manager to lead the Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project teams and sites in Minnesota. You will develop, implement, and oversee safety initiatives, conduct hazard analyses, and coordinate training to improve site safety performance.

You will monitor injury and hazard statistics, manage incident investigations, and mentor safety staff while ensuring compliance with OSHA/ANSI standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required in Safety or related field.
• Alternative: HS diploma plus CHST/OSHA 500 with 14+ years of construction safety leadership experience.
• Experience leading large multi-project safety programs preferred.
• CSP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead Zero Injury Safety Program elements across the operating group.
• Coordinate safety program collaboration with trade partners and joint ventures.
• Conduct hazard assessments during planning and construction phases.
• Develop and deliver safety training, including train-the-trainer sessions.
• Monitor safety metrics, OSHA reports, and incident statistics; track deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Coach safety managers and mentor safety staff; share learning opportunities.
